Niger

Niger is a landlocked nation located in West Africa.  The Sahara Desert covers most of the land, which makes the climate hot and dry.  Niger lies in one of the hottest regions of the world.  There are over 10,000 villages throughout Niger yet there are practically no villages in the desert zone. The general state of health in the country is poor and health care facilities are inadequate.   The infant mortality rate is about about 125 per 1,000 live births  and is one of the highest in western Africa.  It is a predominantly Muslim nation,

Islam dominates the land, and strict, aggressive Muslim groups continue to increase in power, with only .19% Christians. There are 38 people groups in Niger, with 30 of those people groups being unreached. The largest people group in Niger is the Hausa People, which we are actively pursing.

Niger is one of the world's poorest nations and is in desperate need of Jesus.  We have recently begun working in Niger and are training national missionaries in the most difficult places. God is at work and we believe that even in a country that is unsettled, God is doing the impossible. ‍  As stated above, the Hausa are the largest ethnic group in Africa and the second largest language in Africa. It is a diverse culture that spreads across Africa, but is largely spread throughout Niger.  We recently translated Live School into the Hausa translation and have an audio-version that we are using as a test pilot and believe that it will bring many to Jesus. Although we have "boots on the ground" per say, we believe that the translation will open this nation to the Gospel and many will be saved!  It is an exciting time to watch this come to fruition.

All of our Unreached People Group statistics come from The Joshua Project, who’s whole mission is to bring awareness to all of the Unreached People Groups all around the world! Clicking on the link above that says “learn more” will take you to the Joshua Project website of that Unreached People Group.
