Farming God’s Way

“You have heard me teach things that have been confirmed by many reliable witnesses. Now teach these truths to other trustworthy people who will be able to pass them on to others.” 2 Timothy 2:2

In this one verse, the faith travels across four generations. To be effective in fulfilling the Great Commission, we need to make disciples who make disciples, and so on...Let us have the mindset of the early church. Churches nearest the unreached tend to be the weakest and send their ministry-minded to the big city to be trained…most of them never return to the rural church, effectively making the rural churches even weaker.

Instead, we help strengthen rural churches by equipping, empowering, and mobilizing their own people, strengthening and broadening their reach to the least reached (Joshua 1:12-18). We also use other practical development strategies to reach the Unreached. Farming God's Way (FGW) is a proven and effective tool to empower the poor through agricultural means. FGW helps address the food security and poverty crisis in WACA and creates pathways into unreached communities. Other small businesses such as soap making also help create self-sustainability and entrance into the unreached. FGW is not just a great idea, it is God's idea!  FGW is equipping the poor to appropriate the amazing revelations God has provided for them to come out of poverty. We have seen such amazing traction using this tool.  Not only is this feeding nationals, it is creating a way of means for them.  In a couple countries, the coordinators have planted anti-malarial Artemisia annual, where they will make a tea out of the leaves.  This will greatly lessen the effect and pain of malaria sickness.

FGW is the only course that has ever been added to LS. It is a ministry in its own right. Not only does the yield of a crop planted by FGW methods significantly increase each year, but the soil is improved, and erosion is greatly limited. Heavy farm implements are not used in FGW, making it ideal for efficient and effective farming in the WACA region. FGW is not just a farming course. It produces great spiritual lessons which are taught to the student and builds bridges of trust and relationship between the students and the people they seek to reach with the Good News of Jesus Christ.

We first presented FGW to our team in July of 2018. After several years of "sowing" the vision of FGW, we are beginning to see more and more new sprouts of growth across WACA and has been a very effective tool in reaching the Unreached People Groups! We are experiencing the power of a seed! Sometimes we do not act, because something might be new, and we fear failing. But if the seed is not put in the ground, there is no way you will get crop!
