Meet Chip & Kathy, the Founders of Sonrise International

Chip & Kathy Carroll have been actively involved in missions for almost 30 years. Chip earned his Master of Divinity in 1999 and spent the next 12 years working in land development and cattle ranching. While they remained involved with missions, in 2011 the Carroll’s sold their ranch and business interests to focus their attention more fully on their passion to bring the Gospel to the unreached. Since then, the use of Live School (LS) to train indigenous missionaries has grown into all 24 countries of the West and Central Africa (WACA) region they oversee. Chip and Kathy serve as the WACA Regional Directors for World Missions Centre. Married in 1987, they have a growing family of four children, a daughter-in-law, two son-in-laws, and three grandsons.

Our West and Central Africa Team (WACA)

God has raised up men and women in WACA to take the Gospel to their own. We currently have coordinators in all 24 countries of WACA to help start Live Schools and plant churches. This is allowing us to be more intentional about our work with Unreached People Groups (UPG) and Unengaged Unreached People Groups (UUPG).

Our team has caught the fire and because of that, schools and churches are being planted at record speeds. These men and women are risking their lives daily to go into unsafe and unsettled areas to bring the Gospel to the lost and hurting; going where most have not and are not willing to go. We are grateful for our team and the work that they are doing throughout their regions.

We would also like to acknowledge all the volunteers, churches, pastors, students, and graduates who are using the Live school tool to affect a huge change in Africa for the glory of God. They are an integral part of what we do. "For just as each of us has one body with many members, and these members do not all have the same function..." (Romans 12).
