Democratic Republic of Congo

Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) is located on the coastline of the Atlantic Ocean in Central Africa. It is the second largest country on the continent. The capital, Kinshasa, is located on the Congo River and is the largest city in Central Africa. The city serves as the country’s official administrative, economic, and cultural center. More than two-fifths of the population is younger than age 15, with three-fourths under the age 30. There is only a small fraction of the population over 60. Due to a lack of proper medical care, along with poverty, violence, and disease the life expectancy is below global average. With over 228 people groups within this nation, there are three Unreached People Groups not reached, but don’t let number fool you.

The Congo is a broken nation  in desperate need of the Gospel.  Although many claim to be Christian, they follow the  fetishes and beliefs of their culture.   We are encouraged, however, as the love of Jesus is penetrating the hearts of the people.  We are seeing great results from Live Schools and Farming God's Way.   We hear stories like this all the time: a renown pastor in the Congo went through Live School and Farming God's Way.  The Holy Spirit spoke to him and he realized he was not a follower of Christ.  He made a public declaration of his new faith in Christ by being baptized and then went on national radio to share his testimony of salvation.  Lives are being radically transformed by the power of Jesus!  The harvest is ripe in the Congo!

All of our Unreached People Group statistics come from The Joshua Project, who’s whole mission is to bring awareness to all of the Unreached People Groups all around the world! Clicking on the link above that says “learn more” will take you to the Joshua Project website of that Unreached People Group.
