Raised to New Life with Christ

We have died with Christ and must quit living as if we are alive to the elementary principles of this world, which are a mere shadow of Jesus who has come, WHOM WE HAVE BEEN RAISED TO NEW LIFE WITH (Colossians 2:20-3:4). Come out of the shadows and live with Christ! Follow Him! That means changing our behavior, not as a LAW, but from the midst of our heart. Learn to live from your heart, which can only happen as we renew our mind, spend time with Christ in prayer and receive instruction in His Word. Inside we want to “be like our Daddy!” Jesus is the physical representation of Him. When we see Jesus, we see what our new Daddy is like!... In Colossians, Paul spends the rest of the chapter showing what life in Christ looks like, and how to go about it. We are not enslaved to sin anymore. Therefore, let us live by the Spirit, and put away the sinful deeds of the dead flesh! Look up to Him!

Colossians 2:20-23 (NLT), “You have died with Christ, and he has set you free from the spiritual powers of this world. So why do you keep on following the rules of the world, such as, 21 “Don’t handle! Don’t taste! Don’t touch!”? 22 Such rules are mere human teachings about things that deteriorate as we use them. 23 These rules may seem wise because they require strong devotion, pious self-denial, and severe bodily discipline. But they provide no help in conquering a person’s evil desires.”

Colossians 3:1-4 (NLT), “Since you have been raised to new life with Christ, set your sights on the realities of heaven, where Christ sits in the place of honor at God’s right hand. 2 Think about the things of heaven, not the things of earth. 3 For you died to this life, and your real life is hidden with Christ in God. 4 And when Christ, who is your life, is revealed to the whole world, you will share in all his glory.
