Annette Harris, M.S., is a specialist in organization effectiveness, leadership development and training. She is founder and president of Sonrise International, a human resource management firm located in Chicago, Illinois. Ms. Harris has over 17 years of extensive and diverse experience in the field of training and human development. She received her Bachelors Degree in Psychology from Lee University in Cleveland Tennessee, and a Masters Degree in Counseling Psychology from Northeastern State University in Tahlequah, Oklahoma. |
| Ms. Harris has successfully worked with corporations, universities, schools, governments, and professional groups. In this capacity, she has assessed organization development needs, conducted culture audits, strategic planning, as well as training and development initiatives. She has conducted numerous education & training workshops for Oklahoma State University, Langston University, Illinois State University, Tulsa Community College, and Oklahoma University. | |
| While consulting at
Oklahoma University (OU), she served as a member of the Curriculum Planning
Committee where she developed and evaluated education curricula for senior
executives of the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). As a Lead
Facilitator, Ms. Harris co-piloted the FAA diversity training in the
southwest region of the United States, as well as conducted
Train-the-Trainer workshops for a cadre of Instructors and Consultants.
She has also consulted with fortune 500 corporations such as Verizon Wireless, General Electric (GE), and State Farm Insurance Companies. Within the corporate setting, Ms. Harris has assessed organization development needs, supported corporate missions and human resource objectives, and developed training materials in the areas of leadership, change management, valuing diversity, team-building/conflict management and sexual harassment. | |
| In addition to her work as a consultant, Ms. Harris has served on the Mayor’s commission for the status of women and acting member of the Governor’s Council on the status of women where she assisted with legislative issues impacting women’s healthcare in the State of Oklahoma. She has also served on boards, chaired committees, and served as a Team Development Leader for Jack Canfield’s recent published “Chicken Soup for the African American Soul”. She has made several appearances on CBS specials. In 1993, she appeared on “CBS Good Morning” as an Analyst with Harry Smith and Paula Zahn on the diverse cabinet selection of the President of the United States. | |
